Senior Commercial Manager

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage all commercial aspects of the project portfolio and maintain regular liaison with all stakeholders.
• Build and lead a high-performing commercial team, including onboarding, mentoring, and setting performance objectives.
• Develop and implement clear commercial strategies for the portfolio and influence tender commercial strategies.
• Ensure all contractual obligations and commercial risks are reviewed and managed effectively.
• Maximize cash position through WIP control and cash flow improvement plans.
• Manage project supply chains, including subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
• Identify, mitigate, and manage risks and opportunities across the portfolio.
• Monitor out-turn costs and values in real time, maintaining detailed monthly forecasts.
• Contribute to business plan strategy and group-wide commercial procedures.

Requirements

• Degree qualification in a relevant field.
• Substantial proven experience in a commercial role within the construction industry, specifically with a main contractor.
• Expert knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract and Standard Methods of Measurement.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Understanding of programming techniques and project controls.
