Senior Commercial Counsel

Responsibilities

• Lead contract negotiations for various matters, including SaaS purchases, hardware, real estate leases, and supplier requests.
• Drive complex deal closure by reviewing and negotiating enterprise commercial licenses, data processing agreements (GDPR, CCPA), and strategic partnerships.
• Partner cross-functionally with procurement, sales, deal desk, finance, and security teams to accelerate transaction closure.
• Optimize legal processes and policies through the use of AI and automation tools to increase efficiency.
• Maintain and improve legal templates and commercial contracting playbooks.
• Identify and resolve legal and regulatory issues related to commercial contracts.

Requirements

• Legal qualification to practice in England & Wales (solicitor) or equivalent international qualification with the right to work in the UK.
• 6+ years of progressive experience specifically in software licensing and SaaS agreements.
• Demonstrated experience using AI-based tools for redlining and legal research.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume deal flow and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior in-house experience at a high-growth technology company.
• Undergraduate degree in a business or technology field.
• Experience with international commercial agreements and data localization requirements.
• Proficiency in additional languages such as French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese.
