Senior Coder - Facility IP

Responsibilities

• Assign appropriate DRGs (both MS & APR DRG) using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems
• Review patient records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory and reimbursement standards
• Collaborate with clinical staff to gather accurate documentation for coding purposes
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding accuracy
• Work independently to meet deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in IP DRG coding specialty
• Mandatory professional certification (CIC, CCS, or CPC)
• Graduate degree
• Strong proficiency in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems
• Excellent communication and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office and Excel
• Experience using coding software or encoders such as 3M, Trucode, or Optum
• Familiarity with EMR systems like EPIC or Cerner
