Senior Cloud & Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize the current Linode VPS environment to ensure high availability and performance
• Conduct "Build vs. Migrate" analysis to determine future cloud provider strategy (AWS, Azure, GCP, or third-party platforms)
• Implement SLIs/SLOs and automated monitoring for a VPS-heavy environment
• Manage uptime, disaster recovery, and incident response
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure reproducible and secure VPS instances
• Take ownership of security posture, including Linux server hardening and firewall management
• Act as the technical lead for HIPAA audits and security documentation
• Partner with developers to create automated staging environments and deployment smoke tests

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Systems Administration
• Deep expertise in Linux Administration (Ubuntu, Debian, or CentOS)
• Experience with Linode or similar VPS providers
• Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Proven track record of migrating workloads between providers or modernizing legacy VPS setups
• Direct experience with HIPAA or similar regulatory frameworks
• Strong understanding of VPCs, subnets, VPNs, and load balancing
