Senior Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure data hosting solutions across Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Architect and deploy modular cloud-based systems with a focus on data protection, availability, and compliance.
• Lead initiatives for backup and disaster recovery using tools like Veeam and Azure Backup.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Azure DevOps pipelines for continuous deployment and infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Ensure adherence to Azure security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance performance and reliability of cloud infrastructure and data protection systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on data protection and hosting.
• 7+ years of experience in data protection and backup for both on-premises and Azure environments.
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure, including virtual networks, storage, compute, and security.
• Strong experience with Veeam, Azure Backup, and cloud-native backup strategies.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI.
• Solid understanding of Azure DevOps for CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with on-premises storage systems such as NetApp or Dell-EMC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as Veeam Certified Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Ansible certification.
• Experience with microservices and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/UDP, DNS, DHCP) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Exposure to data classification, retention policies, and governance frameworks.
