About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery, design, coordination, and governance of the Hear Alert cohort trial.
  • Manage the end-to-end participant journey, including recruitment, consent, training, and retention across intraoperative and home settings.
  • Acquire, curate, and quality-assure complex cochlear implant electrophysiology data, integrating intraoperative recordings with longitudinal home monitoring.
  • Contribute neurophysiological expertise to protocol refinement, biomarker interpretation, peer-reviewed publications, and industry reports.
  • Provide operational leadership and mentoring to students and staff while fostering collaboration across academic, clinical, and industry partners.

Requirements

  • PhD in audiology, neuroscience, biomedical science, biomedical engineering, or a closely related clinical discipline.
  • Substantial experience conducting human clinical studies, including ethics submissions, consent processes, and recruitment.
  • Hands-on expertise with clinical electrophysiology systems.
  • Experience working within operating theatre or procedural environments.
  • Capability in managing complex clinical datasets, including database design and data integrity documentation.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, engineers, and industry partners.
