About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform equipment maintenance for centrifuges, freezers, refrigerators, pipettors, Fragment Analyzer, Microplate Reader, NovaSeqs, and Hamiltons
- Create sample batches, print labels, and label tubes and plates
- Maintain laboratory inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment
- Monitor and record temperatures and document corrective actions for test system deviations
- Assist Clinical Laboratory Scientists with reagent preparation, aliquoting, and sample testing
- Participate in cross-departmental projects and internal audits
- Train new laboratory personnel on SOPs and maintenance procedures
- Write and revise standard operating procedures
- Implement process improvement opportunities
Requirements
- 4+ years of work experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Experience with Molecular Biology
- Flexibility for variable shift start times
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related fields
- High sample volume laboratory experience
- Experience working with automated equipment and systems
- Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations
