Senior Claims Representative

Responsibilities

• Investigate and settle PIP claims promptly and equitably within established best practices and statutory guidelines
• Review claim and policy information to determine the extent of the company's obligation to the insured
• Conduct interviews and obtain statements from insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, and police officers
• Manage PIP claims including arbitrations and suits, and review files for potential SIU involvement
• Set reserves within authority limits and recommend necessary reserve changes to the Team Leader
• Prepare detailed reports regarding investigations, settlements, claim denials, and individual party evaluations
• Obtain releases, proofs of loss, or compensation agreements and issue company payments
• Communicate claim denials to claimants, insureds, or attorneys when applicable

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of PIP claims handling experience
• Valid state adjuster license (or ability to obtain one; ESIS provides support for licensing exams)
• Strong knowledge of auto liability cost containment programs
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage claims in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a TPA (Third Party Administrator) environment
• New York PIP (No Fault) experience, including managing AAA arbitrations and suits
