Senior Civil Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of major and local rail improvement projects in Ireland and the UK
• Provide engineering leadership and technical guidance to the rail civil engineering and stations teams
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and multidisciplinary stakeholders
• Prepare and review project documentation, including reports, plans, and specifications
• Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure effective design solutions
• Mentor and support junior engineers to foster professional development
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources for timely delivery
• Collaborate with business development teams to identify and pursue new project opportunities

Requirements

• Proven track record of engineering experience in general civil or structural engineering
• Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or related field
• Chartered Professional status with a relevant Institution or Organisation
• Proficiency in civil engineering software
• Strong project management and coordination skills
• Excellent communication abilities and experience working with multidisciplinary teams
• Experience overseeing projects from bid development through to design and delivery

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within the Irish Rail, Translink, or UK Rail environments
• Detailed understanding of standards and local client requirements for railway infrastructure design
• Ability to supervise the work of others, including the check and approval of key deliverables
• Established local industry connections
