Senior Civil Engineer

Fluidstack is focused on delivering massive-scale compute infrastructure for AI. The company acquires power, designs and builds data centers, and operates them with teams spanning hardware and software to accelerate the deployment of frontier compute.

Responsibilities

• Own the civil engineering workstream across a multi-site development portfolio from site screening through permitting and construction completion
• Lead civil due diligence for greenfield and conversion sites including topography, drainage, utilities, soils, and environmental constraints
• Develop and maintain the civil basis of design, master specs, and standard drawings
• Establish grading strategies, earthwork balance, and cut/fill sequences for large campus developments
• Structure phased delivery with early work packages to accelerate the critical path
• Lead civil permitting strategy across jurisdictions including land disturbance, NPDES/SWPPP, and floodplain permits
• Manage external civil consultants and coordinate scope with structural, MEP, fiber, and architectural teams

Requirements

• Experience owning civil engineering on large-scale site development (data centers, industrial, logistics, or power infrastructure)
• Experience directing external civil consultants and managing design deliverable quality through IFC
• Deep knowledge of grading, earthwork, stormwater, and site utility design
• Proficiency in NPDES and floodplain (FEMA/CLOMR/LOMR) permitting
• Ability to identify civil fatal flaws and quantify cost risk during site selection
• Experience coordinating geotechnical investigations and interpreting boring programs

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience in hyperscale or energy infrastructure development
• Experience with expansive clay, karst, or high water table conditions
• MISO/utility interconnection civil coordination experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS
