Senior Children's Residential Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise shifts, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
• Provide direct care and emotional support to children and young people
• Act as a role model, promoting positive behaviors and independence
• Support staff through guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training
• Assist with care planning, risk assessments, and record-keeping
• Respond to challenging situations calmly and professionally
• Work collaboratively with external professionals and agencies

Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in residential childcare
• NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People or equivalent
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare
