Senior Chemical Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead improvements in unit performance regarding safety, production, and reliability
• Serve as a senior technical resource providing expertise to address complex processes
• Mentor less experienced engineers on design practices, unit health monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Provide off-hours support for abnormal operations and unit Turnarounds
• Organize and design plant testing and product trials
• Lead or support incident investigations as the technical lead
• Serve as a process safety resource leading HAZOPs and Risk Assessments
• Support the development and implementation of capital projects to drive margin or mitigate risk

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in a Chemical Engineering plant
• Technical experience in fuels or chemicals manufacturing roles

Preferred Qualifications

• Process design experience
• Familiarity with advanced control strategies and optimization software
• Working knowledge of RBI practices (corrosion damage mechanisms/mitigations)
• Risk assessment and HAZOP experience
• Understanding of safety relief limits (modelling and evaluations)
• Proficiency with modelling software such as PROII or ASPEN
• Experience with Kinetic Modelling (SOL, KBC Profimatics, etc.)
