About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent complex inspections and supervise lower-level inspectors for roadway and structure construction
- Perform contract administration duties including field measurements and documentation
- Participate in Concept Meetings, Field Plan Reviews, and CPM schedule reviews
- Perform project engineering duties for smaller construction projects
- Manage and inspect local let projects
- Verify invoiced work and manage project funding allocations
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4+ years of progressive transportation technician experience
- Knowledge of highway construction materials, methods, and equipment
- Proficiency in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Valid driver's license for Georgia
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
Preferred Qualifications
- GDOT WECS certification
- GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification
- GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control)
- Passing scores on GDOT Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests
