Senior CAD Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage the configuration of top-level spacecraft assemblies in CAD and maintain bills of material for production transfer
• Develop, document, and teach design best practices and drawing standards to the engineering team
• Manage programs and procedures governing the interaction between CAD and PLM systems
• Model and draw complex components and system-wide assemblies, including waveguide routes, propulsion systems, and harnessing
• Perform engineering drawing checks for components and systems
• Assist in recruiting and interviewing new teammates to support team growth

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a design role with expertise in mechanical CAD
• Proven experience with the design and production of complex assemblies
• Robust proficiency in SolidWorks
• Working knowledge and experience in PDM Administration
• Mastery of GD+T and engineering drawing standards
• Passion for hardware development and working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the design of spaceflight components or vacuum-compatible systems
• Experience designing and routing harnesses, waveguides, or pipes
• Proficiency with surface modeling
• Experience using Arena
