Senior Buyer/Planner

Responsibilities

• Source and procure wire harness components including wire, connectors, terminals, and cable assemblies
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing and quality
• Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to mitigate supply chain risk
• Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, lead times, and contractual agreements
• Manage material readiness for production orders and maintain Clear-to-Build (CtB) status
• Monitor material shortages and coordinate supplier expedites and recovery plans
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Inventory, and Quality teams
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement, planning accuracy, and ERP processes

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain planning, or manufacturing operations
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (wire harness, aerospace, defense, or electronics preferred)
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
• Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in wire harness manufacturing
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
• Experience with SQL and Power BI
• Experience using CAD tools
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement
