Senior Buyer

Responsibilities

• Determine daily needs and maintain desired inventory levels for assigned commodities
• Order loads and build trucks for loading
• Manage troubled loads, protections, credits, and shrink
• Participate in weekly pricing and operational meetings
• Serve as a liaison between the sales staff and the procurement department

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent (College degree preferred)
• 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience in a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment
• 2 years of produce-related purchasing experience (FOB items)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
