Senior Business Intelligence and Insights Engineer

Third Wave Automation is a rapidly growing startup applying modern machine learning to materials handling. They deliver site-specific forklift navigation and infrastructure-free pallet handling that adapts to changing warehouse demands.

Responsibilities

• Audit and evolve organizational KPIs to drive decision-making
• Perform deep-dive exploratory analysis to find hidden signals in autonomous product data
• Design and implement novel data models and simulation models to predict future outcomes
• Influence the design and documentation of overall data structures
• Provide feedback on data ingestion pipelines and validate data sources
• Partner with Engineering and Product teams to inform solution requirements
• Create compelling visualizations for internal and external stakeholders
• Champion the use of generative AI tools to automate workflows and generate insights

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience using advanced statistical techniques with non-linear data sets
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Javascript
• Deep experience in data warehouses and analytics tools (BigQuery, Looker, Grafana, or BigTable)
• Technical proficiency in database design, data modeling, and data mining
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence executives
• Ability to think from first principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a first data hire or building a data function in a startup
• Domain expertise in Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles, IoT, or Industrial Automation
• Deep experience with dbt (data build tool)
• Experience with Product-Led Growth (PLG) funnels
• Ability to perform predictive modeling (churn prediction, anomaly detection, regression)
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS)
