Senior Bridge Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams on small to mid-size projects and perform quality control for design calculations and plan development
• Identify and analyze principal design features and major design alternatives to satisfy client needs
• Produce high-quality final design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable standards
• Peer review plans and provide quality control reviews of technical specifications and contract documents
• Mentor junior staff in technical design elements and the development of project documents
• Assist Project Managers in monitoring project budgets and schedules
• Support the Bridge Team Lead in managing client relationships and business development efforts

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum of 7 years of bridge and/or structural design experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months
• Proficiency in Mathcad and LEAP software
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Experience with CDOT, ADOT, NDOT, NMDOT, UDOT, WSDOT, or Caltrans standards
• Experience with Design-Build or other alternative delivery methods (PDB, CMGC, CMAR, P3)
• Rail bridge design experience (High-Speed, Commuter, Freight, or Light rail)
• Expertise in seismic design or complex bridge design
• Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Open Bridge Modeler (OBM), or Open Bridge Designer (OBD)
