Senior Body Assembly Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and define new product manufacturing tooling and assembly line processes to achieve quality targets
• Manage development aspects of assembly line equipment including project planning, technical specifications, and installation
• Provide technical direction on equipment and assembly process capabilities to Manufacturing and Vehicle Engineering teams
• Manage equipment budgets within approved limits
• Utilize Industrial Engineering tools for operations, layout analysis, time studies, and ergonomic assessments
• Optimize processes and resolve build issues during pre-launch and launch activities

Requirements

• B.S. in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience launching assembly tooling and equipment
• Plant floor experience as a process owner, production engineer, or quality engineer
• Proficiency with Catia V6 and Delmia software
• Experience using statistical methods to improve production results
• Ability to travel internationally up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with die suppliers in China or Asia
• Experience with virtual manufacturing simulation software
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin
