About the role
Responsibilities
- Own and define new product manufacturing tooling and assembly line processes to achieve quality targets
- Manage development aspects of assembly line equipment including project planning, technical specifications, and installation
- Provide technical direction on equipment and assembly process capabilities to Manufacturing and Vehicle Engineering teams
- Manage equipment budgets within approved limits
- Utilize Industrial Engineering tools for operations, layout analysis, time studies, and ergonomic assessments
- Optimize processes and resolve build issues during pre-launch and launch activities
Requirements
- B.S. in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience launching assembly tooling and equipment
- Plant floor experience as a process owner, production engineer, or quality engineer
- Proficiency with Catia V6 and Delmia software
- Experience using statistical methods to improve production results
- Ability to travel internationally up to 30%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with die suppliers in China or Asia
- Experience with virtual manufacturing simulation software
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin
