About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead biostatistician on assigned research projects, providing statistical leadership throughout the entire research lifecycle.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and methodological consultation to biostatisticians, analysts, investigators, and research staff.
  • Lead statistical and methodological design considerations for grant applications and research initiatives.
  • Manage EHR data processes, including extraction, transformation, cleaning, validation, and the creation of research-ready analytic datasets.
  • Develop advanced statistical programming solutions, including custom SAS macros, R functions, and reproducible analytic workflows.
  • Collaborate on the writing, reviewing, and editing of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and the preparation of research reports.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Public Health, Health Informatics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with a Master's degree, or a minimum of 5 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAS and R, including the development of automated analytical workflows.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working directly with electronic health record (EHR) data and healthcare coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, LOINC, RxNorm).
  • Proven experience in advanced statistical methodologies such as survival analysis, mixed-effects models, or longitudinal data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant quantitative field.
  • Experience developing patient cohorts and computable phenotypes using clinical data.
  • Past experience obtaining external funding as a Co-I or study biostatistician.
  • Experience supporting observational research using real-world data (RWD) or clinical data warehouses.
