Senior Biologist

Responsibilities

• Conduct desktop reviews for biological resources and background environmental data reviews
• Perform wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and species-specific protocol surveys
• Execute vegetation and botanical inventories and wetland delineations
• Prepare regulatory permit applications and assist with written technical reports
• Provide biological and environmental compliance construction monitoring
• Utilize GPS data collection and ArcGIS online mapping applications (Field Maps, Survey 123)
• Manage, organize, and analyze field data for client and regulatory agency review

Requirements

• University degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of natural resource or biological services experience in Southern California
• Extensive knowledge of the flora, fauna, and vegetative communities of Southern California
• Proficiency in wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and wetland delineations
• Strong MS Office skills and ability to manage complex data
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Ability to travel and conduct fieldwork in remote areas and varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with California Utilities
• Possession of a California Scientific Collecting Permit, State MOU, or federal Recovery Permit
• Wetland delineation training certificate
• Experience with ArcGIS and mobile data collection applications
• Experience coordinating with wildlife, water, and renewable energy agencies
