About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead conception, design, execution and analysis of tissue-based imaging assays including H&E, IHC, and spatial biology
- Build image analysis workflows to extract interpretable, multi-scale morpho-quantitative biomarkers
- Design workflow controls, stress tests, and scoring strategies to connect biological hypotheses with image-based measurements
- Work with pathologists to define annotation schemas and oversee WSI annotation for DPAI algorithm development
- Partner with bioinformatics and AI/ML teams to refine quantitative image analysis and DPAI workflows
- Drive image-based tumor phenotyping to characterize tumor, stromal, and immune cell populations
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring in bioimage analysis and TME characterization
- Guide operational deployment of workflows and automation for CLIA/CAP regulated environments
- Evaluate and integrate commercial and open-source image analysis tools and AI models
Requirements
- Ph.D. in biology, biomedical sciences, bioengineering, computational biology, or related field
- At least 6 years of postgraduate experience
- Proven expertise in tissue staining assays, IHC, imaging assay development, and quantitative histopathology
- Hands-on experience with image analysis platforms like ImageJ/FIJI
- Proficiency in advanced quantification methods using Python or R
- Experience with digital pathology annotation tools such as QuPath, CaMic, or Omero
- Experience with analysis platforms like HALO or Visipharm
Preferred Qualifications
- Oncology expertise
- At least 3 years of experience in a regulated industry
- Prior experience developing digital pathology AI solutions
- Experience in immune-oncology biology and TME characterization
