Senior BIM/CAD Technician

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for infrastructure and utilities projects using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and BIM platforms
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure accurate representation of design intent
• Prepare cross-sections, profiles, plans, and construction-ready drawings
• Ensure all deliverables comply with Dubai Municipality (DM), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and DEWA standards and guidelines
• Participate in internal design reviews and provide technical input on drafting and modeling issues
• Maintain drawing documentation, version control, and adherence to company CAD/BIM standards
• Support clash detection processes and model coordination with other disciplines
• Assist in developing and improving BIM/CAD workflows, templates, and quality procedures

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 10 years of proven experience as a BIM/CAD Drafter within infrastructure, utilities, or civil engineering projects
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation
• Solid understanding of drafting principles, detailing, and technical drawing standards
• Experience working with large-scale utility networks including stormwater, sewer, irrigation, and electrical
• Ability to read, interpret, and translate engineering sketches and markups into accurate drawings
• Full awareness of DM, RTA, and DEWA requirements, drafting standards, and submission guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of BIM authoring tools such as Revit, Civil 3D, or OpenRoads
• Experience in clash detection using Navisworks or comparable software
• Understanding of multi-disciplinary coordination for utilities, roads, and infrastructure
• Familiarity with digital project delivery workflows and ISO standards
