Senior Bid Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, high-value bids (ranging from £10m to £2Bn+) from opportunity identification through to contract award
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop compelling, customer-focused proposals for energy, water, and civil engineering sectors
• Manage bid resource plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure compliance with company governance
• Work closely with design, estimating, and technical teams to facilitate value engineering and commercial alignment
• Identify and manage risks, review pre-contract documents, and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Facilitate lessons learnt sessions to drive continuous improvement in the bidding process

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Proven experience managing bids within the civil engineering or construction sectors
• Strong project management and time management skills
• Solid understanding of design and construction methodology, planning, and commercial awareness
• Full familiarity with construction-related policies, including health and safety and CDM

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional membership or qualifications such as CIOB, RICS, ICE, or ICES
• Experience managing bids within the energy, utilities, transport, or tunnelling sectors
• Experience working on bids involving external joint venture partners
