Senior Benchmarking Researcher

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement novel quantum-classical hybrid algorithms
• Lead research and development for benchmarking, characterization, and performance optimization of quantum computing systems
• Design and execute experiments to characterize QPU contribution to different hybrid algorithms
• Reproduce experiments and results from scientific literature and critically review latest benchmarks
• Perform in-depth analysis of experimental results to identify trends and guide system-level improvements
• Communicate technical findings internally and externally to diverse stakeholders
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate multidisciplinary insights into R&D initiatives
• Provide technical direction and mentorship within the team

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 4+ years of experience in a full-time research position
• Proficiency in Python; experience with C++ is considered an asset
• Strong foundation in algorithm development with experience in machine learning, Monte Carlo methods, and/or statistical physics
• Proven ability to interpret and implement complex algorithms from scientific literature
• Skilled in conducting independent research and exploratory data analysis
• Proficient in technical and scientific writing
