Senior Battery Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive experiments in pouch full cells, covering slurry & coating, electrolyte optimization, cell design, and electrochemical test methods
• Perform thorough failure analysis in small pouch full and prototype cells to identify root causes
• Apply advanced data analysis, statistical methods, and modeling techniques to interpret test results and inform design iterations
• Communicate ideas, plans, and results to internal stakeholders and support customer-facing data package preparation
• Accelerate learning cycles by developing new techniques or test methods to detect downstream challenges early
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external customers

Requirements

• B.S. in engineering or science with 4+ years of experience in batteries (or fewer with an advanced degree)
• Strong technical background in lithium-ion batteries including slurry, coating, cell design, and cell tear down
• Proficiency in databases and data analysis tools such as JMP or Python
• Well-organized, data-driven approach to problem solving and experimental design
• Exceptional communication abilities
• Understanding of lab safety best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with form factors other than pouch cells
• Fluency in Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese
