Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and analyze cell-level experiments to characterize electrochemical performance and qualify cell package designs
  • Champion safety during electrochemical testing in benchtop and lab-scale test vehicles
  • Investigate performance failures and degradation modes using root cause analysis to drive design improvements
  • Lead continuous improvement in the battery testing program by standardizing protocols
  • Conduct durability and entitlement testing on prototype cell packages to inform DFMEAs
  • Partner with electrode, electrolyte, and manufacturing teams to coordinate cell builds and close performance gaps

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, or a related field with 4+ years of experience, or a PhD with relevant experience
  • Hands-on practical experience with electrochemical systems and data interpretation
  • Expertise in failure prediction and investigation methods like Root Cause Analysis and FMEA
  • Proficiency in statistical experimental design and linear regression analysis
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills for cross-functional collaboration
