Senior Baggage Handling System Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and integration of Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) from feasibility and concept through detailed design and delivery
• Define technical requirements and system specifications including capacity, throughput, reliability, and security
• Ensure seamless integration of BHS with rail systems, station layouts, passenger flows, and airport interfaces
• Develop solutions for passenger and baggage planning, including efficient transfer processes and passenger segregation
• Support the preparation of Design and Construct tender documentation and technical specifications
• Coordinate interface management between BHS and other systems such as rail operations and passenger information systems
• Support systems engineering activities including requirements definition, verification, validation, and traceability
• Develop and support testing and commissioning strategies, including system integration and operational readiness
• Identify and manage technical risks related to BHS performance and implement mitigation measures
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and airport authorities to ensure regulatory compliance

Requirements

• Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or an equivalent field from a recognized university
• Minimum 10 years of experience in BHS, airport systems, and/or rail projects
• Proven experience working in Dubai, the GCC, or on international rail projects
• Extensive knowledge of Baggage Handling Systems design, planning, and integration for large-scale infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification or membership of a recognized professional engineering institute
• Expertise in airport integration and coordination with complex transportation systems
• Experience in high-capacity passenger environments and complex logistics systems
• Familiarity with international standards and best practices for BHS design and safety
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills for managing multidisciplinary teams
