Senior Backend/Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build a Python backend to ingest live I/Q streams and manage queues, buffers, and data flow
• Implement real-time data paths using shared memory, zero-copy, and ring/ping-pong buffers
• Wrap and profile math/AI modules (NumPy, ONNX Runtime/PyTorch) to remove bottlenecks
• Design data schemas for tracks, events, and metadata using asyncpg/SQLAlchemy async
• Develop APIs using FastAPI and secure WebSockets for streaming tracks to dashboards
• Manage infrastructure using Docker, Docker Compose, and GitHub Actions CI/CD
• Implement security protocols including TLS, HTTPS/WSS, JWT, and network isolation

Requirements

• Senior or strong mid-level Python engineer with experience in engineering systems
• Proficiency with asyncio, multiprocessing, and multiprocessing.shared_memory
• Experience with large data matrices (NumPy) and performance profiling
• Expertise in PostgreSQL (asyncpg or SQLAlchemy async), FastAPI, REST, and WebSockets
• Proficiency with Docker, Docker Compose, Linux, and Git/GitHub Actions
• Understanding of security basics: TLS, HTTPS, WSS, and JWT

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ONNX Runtime, PyTorch, CuPy, Numba, SciPy, or GPU inference
• Knowledge of ZeroMQ, Zarr, HDF5, Prometheus, or Grafana
• Linux performance tuning (CPU affinity, taskset, psutil)
• Experience with Terraform or Ansible
• Exposure to high-throughput/low-latency systems, SDR, radar, or signal processing
