Senior Backend Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own critical components and services end-to-end, including architecture, development, and deployment
• Create detailed Low-Level Designs (LLD) for complex systems, defining data models and APIs
• Write production-grade code daily for systems handling 200K+ QPS and petabyte-scale data
• Manage infrastructure, capacity planning, and cost optimization for owned components
• Design observability, monitoring, and alerting capabilities
• Lead incident response and conduct post-mortems
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on system design and best practices

Requirements

• 4-5+ years of experience building and operating backend systems at scale
• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Expert proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or similar modern languages
• Deep experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design and optimization
• Extensive experience with microservices and high-throughput data pipelines
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, concurrency, and consistency models
• Proven track record of end-to-end component ownership and production operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi)
• Knowledge of streaming data systems like Kafka, Pub/Sub, or Flink
• Experience with SRE principles and FinOps/cost optimization
