Senior Backend/Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and own a 6-stage data processing pipeline end-to-end, from ingestion to output.
• Develop a core orchestration framework using async Python to support parallel and sequential stage execution.
• Build a robust connector framework to integrate with 50+ enterprise data sources including APIs, databases, and SaaS platforms.
• Implement critical safety and compliance layers, including PII/PHI detection, data integrity checks, and immutable audit trails.
• Design event-driven architectures featuring message queuing, backpressure handling, and graceful degradation.
• Ensure strict multi-tenant data isolation to maintain customer separation across all pipeline stages.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience specifically building data-intensive, high-volume pipelines.
• Deep expertise in distributed Python systems using asyncio, aiohttp, or Celery.
• Proficiency with message queues and streaming technologies such as Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, or Redis Streams.
• Strong experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, EKS, and Step Functions.
• Proven track record in API design (REST/GraphQL) and multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
• Solid production habits including CI/CD, comprehensive testing, and incident response.
