Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build the server-side foundation to transition the game from client-authoritative to server-validated
• Build server-side validation for the metagame including currency, card upgrades, and progression
• Move toward server authority for competitive features to ensure trusted game state
• Design APIs and player-state management for Unity client integration
• Work cross-functionally across infrastructure, API design, and client-side integration

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend development experience
• Extreme fluency in Golang (at least 1 year professional experience)
• Mastery of SQL and NoSQL
• Background in high-scale systems
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals
• Understanding of Unix-like environments
• Experience working in cross-functional agile teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work autonomously and self-sufficiently
