Senior Backend Engineer

Our first product, Allô, gives you a second number on your phone, answers missed calls with AI, transcribes everything, and syncs it to your CRM.

Responsibilities

• Work side by side with the CTO to build the foundations and future of backend and AI systems
• Develop and enhance backend systems for existing and new applications in conjunction with mobile engineers
• Contribute to systems design, infrastructure planning, CI/CD processes, and data workflows
• Implement and maintain scalable backend systems using Kotlin, Java, Go, or Python
• Design and define backend tools, databases, and app architecture
• Work directly with Cloud services including AWS, Supabase, and Cloudflare
• Create tools, libraries, or components to enhance backend development efficiency

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience designing and building high-performance systems used by millions
• Proficiency in backend development (Kotlin, Java, Go, Python, or similar)
• Expertise in designing scalable and maintainable backend architectures
• Familiarity with database design, management, and optimization
• Experience monitoring architecture using tools like New Relic or Datadog
• Experience working in product companies
• Ability to communicate clearly in English
• Experience with AI is a strong plus
