Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement stateful, event-driven backend services for lending features including loan state transitions and EMI calculations
• Own technical design for squad features, including proposing system designs and submitting ADRs
• Implement high-precision financial calculation logic and detailed audit logging for RBI compliance
• Build and maintain bureau API integrations (CIBIL, Equifax, CRIF) with robust error handling
• Integrate ML model outputs via clean API contracts and implement agentic AI workflows
• Maintain code quality through reviews, refactoring, and mentoring intermediate and associate engineers
• Manage technical debt and contribute to the Backend Guild

Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of backend engineering experience with production system ownership
• Experience in fintech, NBFC, banking, or regulated financial domains
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
• Expertise in REST API design (OpenAPI), PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, and message queues (SQS/Kafka)
• Experience designing stable APIs for cross-team consumption
• AI-native workflow proficiency using Cursor and Claude for coding and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with LOS or LMS systems and EMI calculation logic
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Sourcing, or CQRS
• Proficiency in Kotlin and AWS (EKS, RDS, SQS)
• Experience with rule engine integration such as Drools
