Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Take strong product ownership and actively seek responsibility for small to medium projects
• Work autonomously within a close-knit team to shape the future of Mercury's product
• Partner closely with designers and product leaders to ship high-quality, intuitive experiences
• Join a specific product group such as Banking, Experiences, Expansion, or Risk to build scalable backend systems

Requirements

• 3-7 years of backend development experience
• Proficiency in SQL
• Knowledge of, or a strong excitement to learn, Haskell
• Proven experience making and measuring the impact of architectural decisions
• Ability to incorporate AI tools into your workflow to accelerate development and improve code quality
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional counterparts
