Senior Backend Engineer - Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop Kubernetes operators and controllers to automate platform workloads
• Design and implement control plane and data plane services for orchestration, routing, and monitoring
• Build internal developer tooling and platform APIs to enhance productivity
• Design and maintain IaC frameworks like Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane
• Establish and improve observability, reliability, and resilience of critical infrastructure
• Work closely with SREs and application teams to ensure infrastructure meets product needs
• Contribute to infrastructure architecture for scale, security, and developer experience

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building backend or infrastructure systems
• Deep experience with Kubernetes internals, operators, controllers, and CRDs
• Strong software engineering skills in Go, Rust, or Python
• Hands-on experience designing distributed systems and control/data plane architectures
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane)
• Solid understanding of containerization and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building platform services in a multi-tenant SaaS environment
• Familiarity with service meshes, workload identity, and cloud-native security patterns
• Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects
