Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services for the custom order management system using Node.js and PostgreSQL
• Own the data model and transactional logic for core business entities like orders, inventory, and customers
• Build and maintain integrations with external systems including Shopify, Salesforce, and third-party logistics providers
• Implement order lifecycle workflows including production, fulfillment, shipping, and returns
• Design RESTful APIs that serve internal tools and the broader e-commerce ecosystem
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate business rules into reliable backend systems
• Ensure data integrity across systems and define source-of-truth sync logic
• Write automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and relational databases like PostgreSQL
• Experience designing transactional data models for orders, inventory, or fulfillment workflows
• Hands-on experience building integrations with external platforms and APIs
• Strong understanding of relational database design, normalization, and migration strategies
• Experience with event-driven architecture patterns such as message queues or webhooks
• Experience building and documenting RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), Docker, and CI/CD tooling
• Ability to work autonomously in a small team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Domain experience in order management, e-commerce fulfillment, supply chain, or manufacturing systems
