Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Partner with staff engineers to investigate and resolve complex Chromium issues including rendering race conditions and upgrade breakages
• Own the PDF accessibility post-processing pipeline and implement features for PDF/UA and WCAG compliance
• Build monitoring and testing infrastructure to catch Chromium changes before production
• Design accessibility solutions resilient to frequent upstream output structure changes
• Contribute to export infrastructure challenges including format optimization and distributed systems reliability
• Document complex Chromium behavior and architectural decisions

Requirements

• Deep experience with Chromium or another browser rendering engine
• Proficiency in C++ for debugging complex third-party codebases
• Strong Java backend engineering skills
• Experience debugging layered systems spanning multiple languages and codebases
• Knowledge of PDF specifications or experience with PDF generation and post-processing
• Background in rendering pipelines, graphics programming, or print production systems
• Experience maintaining systems with frequent upstream dependency changes
