Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for Trust & Care and core platform experiences in China
• Develop scalable systems supporting platform safety, trust, compliance, and operational workflows
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to meet regulatory and business needs
• Improve reliability, scalability, performance, and observability of critical backend services
• Lead technical discovery, architecture design, and implementation of high-impact projects
• Mentor engineers and foster engineering excellence through code reviews and technical discussions

Requirements

• Strong backend development experience, ideally with Java or similar languages
• Experience building reliable, maintainable, and scalable distributed systems
• Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end and collaborate cross-functionally
• Systems thinking mindset with a focus on user experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with service-to-service APIs, data enrichment pipelines, or intelligent routing systems
• Experience in support platforms, workflow orchestration, or customer-facing systems
