About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
  • Design and evolve real-time, event-driven systems
  • Drive the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment
  • Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code
  • Improve observability and reliability through metrics, logging, and tracing
  • Profile and optimize services for latency, throughput, and cost efficiency
  • Use AI-powered tools for code generation, refactoring, and debugging
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Lead technical design reviews and mentor other engineers

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack development
  • 1–2+ years in a senior or lead capacity on large-scale applications
  • Strong experience with distributed web applications and microservices
  • Deep hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript
  • Experience designing and maintaining GraphQL (Apollo) and REST APIs
  • Solid database design and modeling experience (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency)
  • Proven experience using AI tools to enhance development workflows
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems
  • Experience with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency in additional backend languages like Python
  • Experience with observability tooling and performance profiling
  • Exposure to machine learning or data-driven systems
