Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build resilient backend services and APIs
• Own critical data pipelines from ingestion to enrichment to delivery
• Prepare systems for 100x data growth
• Build reliability and test coverage directly into the code
• Improve performance, scalability, and observability across the stack
• Work closely with data/ML to productize AI-powered agents end to end
• Raise the engineering bar through design reviews, pairing, and mentorship
• Optimize for real impact and fast iteration

Requirements

• 5+ years building and operating production backend systems
• Strong experience with Scala, Python, or functional/JVM languages
• Experience with distributed systems, data modeling, and high-volume pipelines
• Ability to handle greenfield work from design to deployment and monitoring
• Bias toward shipping, measuring, and refining over over-architecting
• Interest in working where AI/ML is deeply embedded in the product
