Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and launch scalable greenfield backend services and RESTful APIs for the Campaign Engine ecosystem
• Establish engineering standards, including software architecture blueprints, coding standards, and CI/CD pipelines using PHP 8.2+ and Laravel
• Drive testing and code quality through automated frameworks, strict test coverage, and systematic code reviews
• Provide cross-functional technical leadership by collaborating with Product Leads, Frontend Engineers, and Infrastructure teams
• Implement and optimize AI-assisted development workflows using tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Gemini

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering
• Deep expertise in the modern PHP ecosystem (PHP 8.2+) and frameworks like Laravel
• Extensive experience in enterprise-level RESTful API design and OAuth management
• Strong knowledge of relational database architecture, including schema engineering and performance tuning
• Proficiency with observability and telemetry tools such as Datadog
• Practical experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into the software lifecycle
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AdTech or Loyalty systems
• Background in building self-service campaign dashboards or budgeting engines
• Experience with reward or coupon systems
