Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and launch scalable, high-performance core backend systems and RESTful APIs for the Campaign Engine
• Establish engineering standards including software architecture blueprints, coding standards, and CI/CD pipelines using PHP 8.2+ and Laravel
• Drive testing and code quality through automated test frameworks, strict test coverage, and systematic code reviews
• Provide cross-functional technical leadership by collaborating with Product Leads, Frontend Engineers, and Infrastructure teams
• Implement AI-supported development workflows using tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Gemini

Requirements

• More than 7 years of professional experience in backend software engineering
• Deep expertise in the modern PHP ecosystem (PHP 8.2+) and frameworks like Laravel
• Extensive experience building enterprise-level RESTful APIs and managing complex OAuth lifecycles
• Strong knowledge of relational database architecture, including schema engineering and performance tuning
• Proficiency in observability and telemetry integration using platforms like Datadog
• Practical experience integrating AI tools into the software development lifecycle
• Ability to communicate complex architectural trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AdTech or Loyalty systems
• Experience building self-service campaign dashboards or budgeting engines
