Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect greenfield backend services and scalable RESTful APIs from scratch
• Establish engineering standards including coding standards, repository layouts, and CI/CD pipelines
• Drive testing and code health through automated test frameworks and systematic code reviews
• Partner with Product and Frontend teams to translate commercial objectives into robust code
• Deploy and optimize AI-augmented engineering workflows using tools like Cursor or Claude Code

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience
• Advanced proficiency in modern PHP (8.2+) and Laravel
• Extensive experience building enterprise-grade RESTful APIs and managing OAuth lifecycles
• Strong relational database proficiency including schema engineering and performance tuning
• Experience with observability and telemetry integration using platforms like Datadog
• Practical skill integrating AI tools into the software development lifecycle
• High autonomy and proactive ownership of technical direction

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AdTech or Loyalty domains
• Experience building self-service campaign dashboards or reward systems
