Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable, high-performance greenfield backend services and RESTful APIs for the Campaign Engine.
• Establish engineering standards, including clean software architectural blueprints, coding standards, and CI/CD pipelines using PHP 8.2+ and Laravel.
• Drive code health and testing excellence through automated test frameworks, strict coverage, and systematic code reviews.
• Partner with Product and Frontend teams to translate commercial objectives into robust technical implementations.
• Deploy and optimize modern, AI-augmented development workflows using tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Gemini.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency in modern PHP (8.2+) and the Laravel framework.
• Expertise in designing enterprise-grade, secure RESTful APIs and managing OAuth lifecycles.
• Strong proficiency in relational database architecture, including schema engineering and query performance tuning.
• Experience with observability and telemetry tools, specifically Datadog.
• Practical skill in integrating AI-augmented development tools into the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to work with high autonomy and communicate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the AdTech or Loyalty domain.
• Familiarity with building self-service campaign dashboards, budgeting engines, or reward systems.
