Responsibilities

• Lead projects by defining and designing systems, building proof of concepts, and delivering new service functionality including APIs and data processing
• Develop backend services and web application hosted tools and systems
• Act as a senior individual contributor running code reviews and mentoring other developers
• Participate in early research and experimentation with new technologies
• Continually improve the codebase through automation, refactoring, and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including financial, legal, and editorial colleagues

Requirements

• Experience as a Senior IC Engineer leading systems design and infrastructure discussions
• Proven ability to mentor junior team members and scope work within product teams
• Hands-on experience designing data flow from persistent storage to API endpoints
• Proficiency with Python and web frameworks like FastAPI or Flask
• Strong experience delivering APIs and Service Oriented Architecture
• Strong working knowledge of SQL
• Commitment to code quality through testable, maintainable code and rigorous code reviews

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data modelling
• Experience with a pipeline orchestrator
