About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead backend development and maintenance of the Australian Open digital experience
  • Write secure, maintainable, and well-tested code while conducting peer reviews
  • Work within an Agile team to identify and resolve technical challenges
  • Maintain clear and useful technical documentation
  • Implement solutions that serve millions of fans with a focus on performance and security

Requirements

  • Deep Drupal and PHP expertise, including custom module development and content modelling
  • Experience building and consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs
  • Proficiency with relational databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with modern engineering practices including Composer, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Flexibility regarding working hours during key Tennis Australia events
  • Ability to obtain a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
