Senior Back End Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop applications in Java using a variety of frameworks and tools
• Provide options for implementing features that account for scalability, long term maintainability and performance
• Coordinate with front end development team as needed to connect the UI to our API
• Think strategically and execute operationally

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent field
• At least 5 years of experience
• Experience with large scale distributed systems
• Proficiency in Java, Spring, Hibernate, REST, and MySQL
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and design
• Familiarity with data mining concepts and machine learning algorithms
• Understanding of data flows, data architecture, ETL and processing of structured and unstructured data

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Redis, Elasticsearch, Flume, Redshift, Nginx, or Memcached
