Senior AWS Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable AWS data architectures, including modern data lakes and lakehouse architectures.
• Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, EMR, and Apache Airflow (MWAA).
• Implement real-time streaming pipelines using Kinesis Data Streams/Firehose and MSK (Kafka).
• Lead large-scale data migration projects from on-premise environments to AWS using DMS and SCT.
• Define data partitioning, compression, and organization strategies to optimize performance and costs.
• Implement data quality frameworks, monitoring, and alerting systems using CloudWatch and SNS.
• Establish data lineage and automated cataloging using AWS Glue Data Catalog.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in Systems, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a heavy focus on AWS cloud computing.
• Proven experience managing big data at TB/PB scale.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Glue, Athena, and Redshift.
• Intermediate English language skills.
• Experience with on-premise relational database administration (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, or MySQL).

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
• Master's degree in Data Science or Computer Science.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or Medallion architecture patterns.
• Knowledge of data governance principles (DAMA-DMBOK).
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QuickSight.
