About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as Responsible Engineer for Avionics system design, performance, and hardware including computing, power, RF, and GNC sensors
- Collaborate with cross-functional Engineering teams to capture requirements and lead design trades
- Create technical documentation such as system diagrams, schematics, and interface control documents
- Execute Avionics component and system testing through development, qualification, and integration
- Support spacecraft integration testing, troubleshooting failures, and managing spacecraft risk
- Design and build Avionics production infrastructure
- Write modular test, analysis, and automation software in Python and R
- Manage project plans, milestones, and schedule execution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering
- 5+ years of experience in architectural design, development, test, and integration of space-grade avionics systems
- Experience programmatically interfacing with hardware test automation and data analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- Creative problem solver capable of assessing risk and making collaborative decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vacuum, vibration, shock, radiation, EMI/EMC)
- Expertise in vehicle grounding architecture, spacecraft charging, and RF testing
- Competence with electrical test equipment like oscilloscopes and network analyzers
- Proficiency with NX or similar CAD software
- Expertise in PCB schematic capture and board layout (Altium)
- Experience with Linux, Bash, C++, and MODBUS
