Senior Avionics Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as Responsible Engineer for Avionics system design, performance, and hardware including computing, power, RF, and GNC sensors
• Collaborate with cross-functional Engineering teams to capture requirements and lead design trades
• Create technical documentation such as system diagrams, schematics, and interface control documents
• Execute Avionics component and system testing through development, qualification, and integration
• Support spacecraft integration testing, troubleshooting failures, and managing spacecraft risk
• Design and build Avionics production infrastructure
• Write modular test, analysis, and automation software in Python and R
• Manage project plans, milestones, and schedule execution

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering
• 5+ years of experience in architectural design, development, test, and integration of space-grade avionics systems
• Experience programmatically interfacing with hardware test automation and data analysis
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
• Creative problem solver capable of assessing risk and making collaborative decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vacuum, vibration, shock, radiation, EMI/EMC)
• Expertise in vehicle grounding architecture, spacecraft charging, and RF testing
• Competence with electrical test equipment like oscilloscopes and network analyzers
• Proficiency with NX or similar CAD software
• Expertise in PCB schematic capture and board layout (Altium)
• Experience with Linux, Bash, C++, and MODBUS
